Bottom Preparation & Painting Policy
For environmental, regulatory, and liability reasons, customers are no longer permitted to prepare or paint their own boat bottoms. This change ensures compliance with state and federal environmental regulations (including DEM/EPA requirements), protects the surrounding waters from hazardous materials, and reduces cleanup and disposal risks.

All preparation and painting work must be performed by Standish Boat Yard staff. Preparation is charged per hour, with materials billed separately. Proper containment measures, including vacuum recovery and tarps, are always used during preparation to safeguard the environment.
